South and old downtown Boca Raton is the walkable stretch around the corner of Palmetto Park Road and Federal Highway, the point this guide measures every distance from. Sanborn Square and Historic Town Hall are on the blocks just north of that corner, and Royal Palm Place spreads south of Palmetto Park Road. This page covers all three, with parking, restaurants and what is on. Checked Oct. 20, 2026. This guide is independent of Royal Palm Place, the City and the CRA.

Royal Palm Place

Royal Palm Place describes itself as 14 acres in downtown Boca Raton with more than 20 eateries, boutiques and residences; its tenant list also includes galleries and apartments. It sits south of Palmetto Park Road along Via De Palmas, Via Naranjas and SE Mizner Boulevard, at 101 Plaza Real South, Boca Raton, FL 33432. We found no center-wide hours for Royal Palm Place; each shop and restaurant sets its own.

History note: the Historical Society’s timeline says Royal Palm Plaza opened in 1963 as the town’s first real shopping center. The pages we read do not say how that plaza relates to today’s Royal Palm Place, so we do not claim one became the other.

Royal Palm Place’s own site publishes no parking terms. The Downtown Boca Parking Map 2023 marks “Royal Palm Place Parking” as free, and that is the best source we have, so check the signs on site. Downtown Boca lists free EV charging at Royal Palm Place: two stations plus two Tesla-only. For paid covered parking nearby, Downtown Boca points to The Mark at Cityscape garage at 9 Plaza Real South, entered from SE 1st Avenue and paid through PayByPhone; the rate is not published.

Is there a green market at Royal Palm Place?

Not that we can confirm for 2026 to 2027. Search results describe a Downtown Boca Green Market at Royal Palm Place on Sundays in the 2025 to 2026 season, but Royal Palm Place’s site shows no 2026 to 2027 season. The separate Boca Green Market now lists the 5th Ave Shops, 1954 NE Fifth Ave, on Sundays from 9 AM to 1 PM, Sept. 27, 2026 to May 2, 2027. That is not in the Royal Palm Place area.

  • Search snippets describe a Downtown Boca Green Market at Royal Palm Place on Sundays, October 5, 2025 to May 3, 2026, 8:00 AM to 12:30 PM, on Mizner Blvd. by the fountain. No 2026-27 season was found on Royal Palm Place's site. The separate Boca Green Market's own site now lists 5th Ave Shops (1954 NE Fifth Ave), not Royal Palm Place. Boca Raton Observer (search snippet only)
  • The Boca Green Market lists its season as every Sunday, 9am to 1pm, September 27 to May 2, at 5th Ave Shops, 1954 NE Fifth Ave, Boca Raton, FL 33431, with free admission. Boca Green Market (official site)

It was donated to the city in 1955 by Eleanor Sanborn in honor of her late husband, Dr. W.E. Sanborn.

The square is downtown’s small event lawn:
